Our aim is to ensure your wedding is easy and stress-free, as well as gorgeous and memorable. When you have your wedding at one of our properties, we can suggest several different types of ceremonies and decorations, or implement your unique ideas.
Celebration ceremony (Not civil, Not legal, Not religious): We can orchestrate any type of ceremony in order for the bride and groom to exchange vows. This can be arranged the traditional way or out of the ordinary, from the simplest form to the most extravagant. You can do it any way you can possibly imagine. We will work to satisfy any desires you might have. Our professional wedding planners can provide you with a host of ideas and different ways to officiate the wedding.
If you want to consummate a legal wedding or religious wedding in Mexico, we advise that you work with one of our recommended wedding planners. Getting married in Mexico is easy – but there are some requirements and legal documents involved.
Civil/legal ceremony: This type of ceremony is available 7 days a week, at any hour you choose. If you want your marriage recognized as legal in your home state or home country, you must have a civil ceremony. You can also combine this official portion of the ceremony with a religious ceremony if you choose. Although civil marriages performed in Mexico are legal in Mexico, you must legalize your marriage in your home state or country of birth/residence. Do this by registering your marriage certificate at your local City Hall when you return home.
Religious or symbolic: Catholic, Jewish and non-denominational ceremonies (interfaith) are available alone or in conjunction with a civil ceremony. Our wedding coordinators can provide all details and even arrange for local clergyman.
Sand Ceremony : The sand ceremony can be a non religious ceremony by itself or incorporated into any type of religious ceremony. It is one of the most popular elements in today's weddings! The sand ceremony is especially well suited to an outdoor or beach wedding. With several styles of sand ceremonies and many options for personalization, your sand ceremony will be as unique as your wedding! See the following video:
Legal/civil ceremonies performed by a judge are conducted in Spanish and translated to English by our on-site wedding coordinator. Religious and Symbolic ceremonies are performed by a minister, conducted in English. All other ceremonies can be conducted in your choice of language.
Civil, legal and religious ceremonies requires the following (our professional wedding coordinators can assist with every detail):
Valid Passport: Passports are required to enter Mexico and are also mandatory for a legal wedding to be performed. Passports must be presented to the on-site wedding coordinator at the time of the wedding consultation. Tourist Card: These are provided on the plane prior to arrival into Cancun International Airport. Names on tourist card and passport MUST be the same.
Advanced Hotel Stay: You'll need to arrive at the hotel one full business day before a symbolic or religious ceremony. For a civil / legal ceremony you will need to arrive three full business days prior (not including Mexican national holidays). Mexican holidays are: January 1; February 7; March 21; April 17-24; May 1; May 5; September 16; November 21; and December 25
Blood Tests: Blood tests for legal/civil ceremony are required to be performed in Mexico by law. A certified physician performs the tests in a private wedding room at the hotel.
Four witnesses with valid picture IDs. (If necessary we can provide witnesses).
